Are these courses approved by the Utah Division of Real Estate?

Yes. These Courses have been assigned Utah Real Estate Continuing Education Certification numbers.

ClassStar.com is a certified C.E. provider listed with the Utah Division of Real Estate: 801-530-6747. Web Site: realestate.utah.gov.

Class Star courses are displayed on the Division's web site.

Do I have to take an exam?

Generally, C.E. courses do not contain a “final exam.” ClassStar courses contain brief quizzes of two or three quick questions on just-completed sections of the material.

If you don’t answer the questions correctly, you can review the concepts and re-answer the questions.

Does my enrollment in a course expire after a certain period of time?

Your enrollment won’t expire and you can leave the course and log in later.

How do I enroll in a course?

Locate a course you are interested in, and click on the course name. This action will take you to the Register button.

Fill in a few particulars that we need so your course completion can be reported to the Division: name, address, and license ID. You can then continue and pay tuition with your PayPal account, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit and debit cards.

If you are a returning student, click on Log In or My Profile.

Your credit card transactions are fully secured with state-of-the-art 128-bit encryption methods created by Thawte Security, Inc., and GoDaddy.com, Inc., private third party security vendors. Google "online security certificates," Thawte.com, and GoDaddy.com to learn how a security certificate works to protect you.

How do I get started in my course?

Begin any course by registering for it. You may continue and begin attendance from the registration page.

If you are a returning student, click on Log In or MyProfile.

How do I recieve my Certificate of Attendance / Completion?

The last screen in the course is your Certificate of Completion.  It is an Adobe Acrobat file that can be immediaelty printed, and saved.

You may also log into ClassStar using your password and user name any time in the future for additional copies at no charge.

The Division of Real Estate requests a quick survey from every student. Your Certificate of Completion will be available as soon as you submit your anonymous survey at the end of the course.

How soon do I obtain CE credit for completing a course?

Class Star submits your completed course C.E. hours to the C.E. Credit Bank generally within two hours of completion.

You don't have to wait for the U.S. mail. It is part of Class Star's service.

The last screen in this course is your familiar Course Completion Certificate. You may print it immediately.

The Division of Real Estate can take up to 48 hours to show your credits.

I am taking the course and a "buffering" message appears.

Although rare, sometimes your course video will slow down and appear to stop momentarily.

Don't use the refresh button.

Your streaming video course can be impacted by Internet traffic, other users on your home or office DSL line, an incorrectly installed DSL modem, and a build-up of temporary Internet files on your hard drive.

Try these fixes: If others in your office or home are sharing a DSL line perhaps they could log off for a short time while you attend your course.

If you have other browser(s) open on your computer, as in multi-tasking --- you are the source of the problem. Close the other browser(s).

You may also want to check for correct installation of your DSL modem or have someone check it for you. It is a simple setup that is easy to check.

Also clear your browser's cache files:

Internet Explorer:

Click on: Tools \ Internet Options \ Browsing History –Delete button \ Temporary Internet Files – Delete button, say “Yes” to confirmation question.

FireFox:

Click on: Tools \ Options \ Privacy tab \ Private Data \ Settings, click on Cache button so that a check mark appears in the box, click OK. Then click on Clear Now button in the Private Data section.

Safari:

Click on: Edit > Empty Cache, and then click Empty.

I logged off for a break, and now wish to get started again. How do I continue where I left off?

Click on the MyProfile menu button, and then make your selection.

Just an FYI: Don't use your browser's Refresh or Back button.

Instead, use the controls in the course area of the page.

Must I complete a course in one sitting, or can I log off and come back to it later?

You may pause and return later if you wish.

If you pause the course and return later, the course will begin again from the paused point.

If you close your course session entirely, and return another day, the course will restart from the nearest chapter completed at the time you logged off.

What are the technology requirements for these courses?

All students registering for an online course must have a valid email address and the technical proficiency to surf the Internet, send and receive e-mail, preferably a broadband - high speed Internet connection (either DSL or Cable) and can download PDF files.  Dial-up connections probably won't work and I'd recommend that you do not attempt these courses on a dial-up Internet connection.

Your browsers need to be currnet with Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight add-ins (your browser is probably current and it will tell you if is not--and it will tell you how to get the add-in if you need it.)

Please check your firewall and anti-virus settings to allow a PDF download from www.classStar.com.

These courses have been tested and built to function properly on current verions of Internet Explorer, FireFox and Safari Internet browsers.

These courses require a high speed Internet connection and a browser requirement of Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or greater. Netscape Navigator and Opera browsers are not tested nor recommended.
